What You Will Do

  • Support the design, development, and use of high‑fidelity digital simulation software within advanced technical computing environments.

  • Contribute to trade studies that evaluate weapon system performance across multiple threat types and kill‑chain scenarios.

  • Apply established performance engineering practices and procedures to evaluate a wide range of computational problems, including assessments of potential system improvements, missile effectiveness against single or multiple threats, and identification of countermeasures that may influence effectivity or survivability.

  • Collaborate in a team environment by incorporating input from program leadership, external customers, and technical experts, and develop analytic approaches that generate data required to inform programmatic decisions.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of model‑based solutions that support decision systems, including the validation and testing of models, software components, and integrated system elements.

  • Perform occasional travel to support project needs (typically less than 10%).

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Experience developing software using C++ in an engineering, research, or production environment.

  • Experience writing, modifying, or maintaining C++ code for technical, scientific, or system‑level applications.

  • Experience developing scripts or applications in Python for analysis, automation, or system integration.

  • Experience using Python to analyze data, model behaviors, or support operational workflows.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Advanced degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering

  • Experience using AFSIM or other mission analysis simulation tools

  • Experience with campaign analysis simulation tools

  • Experience applying the physics of magnetism in a practical, research, engineering, or laboratory setting.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
