PROCESS SERVICE: Lexitas supports legal teams by coordinating service of process for professionals who are detail-driven, responsive, and dependable.
LOCATION: This is a full-time, on-site position based at our New Providence office located at 219 South Street, Suite 102, New Providence, NJ 07974

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Lexitas is seeking a highly detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to support our process service operations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate entry, tracking, and management of legal service data and court documents. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a goal-oriented environment, enjoys working with data and legal documentation, and understands that precision and follow-through are essential. While some tasks may be repetitive, the information you handle directly supports attorneys, clients, and court operations nationwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Communicate daily with attorneys and paralegals to coordinate service of process requests.
  • Maintain ongoing client communication via Outlook to build and strengthen professional relationships.
  • Accurately enter case and defendant information into the MR8 database.
  • Email legal documents to process servers and follow up via phone or status checks as needed.
  • Issue checks as requested and process billing-related tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
  • Maintain organized documents and organized digital records of documents and case files
  • Communicate with process servers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and court requirements
  • Perform data quality checks and audits to maintain accuracy

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Typing proficiency of at least 38 WPM.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime as business needs require.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Legal terminology knowledge preferred.
  • Notary Public certification preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proven team-player mindset with a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is not a supervisor position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers whose first language is English.
