Job description

Junior Process Engineer
Matheson is seeking a motivated Junior Process Engineer to join ourfast-paced engineering team in our CO2 and dry ice division. Safety is ournumber one goal. This requires that you embrace the safety first concept. Therole requires a good understanding of heat transfer, fluid flow and chemicalexchange associated with the refinery processes. This is an entry-levelposition where the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in overseeingthe installation, operation, and maintenance of LCO2 refinery equipment. Additionalresponsibilities will be to monitor the manufacturing processes to ensureproduct quality and efficiency, analyze data to identify areas of improvementand implement changes to drive improvement.
Essential Function
1. Assist with review of various deliverables such as process flow diagrams, P&IDs, process data sheets, equipment specifications, AutoCAD drawings, cause and effect diagrams, standard operating procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, HAZOP, and maintenance manuals.
2. Learn to analyze LCO2 process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput. Develop action plans and communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
3. Apply statistical methods and perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
5. Assist with the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of process equipment.
7. Maintain reliable and safe process systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
8. Provide operational and technical support to team members and management.
9. Develop a proficiency in the LCO2 refinery processes.

1-3 years - AutoCAD Software usage
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient with Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point, AutoCAD
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making acumen
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships
Travel will be to support emergentneeds, major project commissioning, and process assistance as assigned by theDirector of Engineering. Regularly- up to 25% Travel, During Major Projects- upto 50% Travel.
