Job description

The Role

A Willmeng Construction Safety Manager leads the development and execution of site-specific safety programs, ensuring every project meets or exceeds OSHA and industry standards. This role conducts regular site inspections, risk assessments, and delivers hands-on safety training to all team members. Key responsibilities include creating proactive hazard prevention plans, investigating incidents, maintaining thorough safety documentation, and driving a strong safety culture across the jobsite. Success in this role is built on proven construction safety experience, deep regulatory knowledge, and the ability to lead, communicate, and empower teams to work safely-every day, on every project.

What you will accomplish

  • Develop and implement site-specific safety policies, procedures, and plans for every project.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA and all federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Proactively identify hazards and assess risks to drive elimination or mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits, monitoring safe work practices and equipment use.
  • Lead safety training and education for all team members, covering best practices and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of safety activities, inspections, and incident reports.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by engaging with crews, addressing concerns, and reinforcing best practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams and leadership to ensure safety is integrated into every phase of construction.

What we would like you to have

  • 5+ years proven experience in construction safety, with a degree in a related field preferred.
  • Tilt-up construction experience is a strong plus.
  • Brings a deep understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations.
  • Leads by example, building strong relationships and communicating clearly across all project teams.
  • Proactively identifies safety issues and drives effective, practical solutions on site.
  • Maintains meticulous attention to detail in inspections, documentation, and safety processes.
  • Possesses key certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, BCSB, CHST and CSP, demonstrating commitment to best-in-class safety.
