Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Process Automation Intern will support initiatives to improve operational efficiency across the organization through automation, artificial intelligence, and process improvement.
The primary project will focus on automating the Accounts Payable invoice verification process by comparing supplier invoices to purchase orders and received quantities. The intern may also assist with additional work flow projects that leverage AI to streamline internal processes, improve documentation, and enhance workflow efficiency in a pressure control equipment manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Work various teams to document the current Accounts Payable workflow.
  • Analyze the invoice, purchase order, and receiving processes to identify automation opportunities.
  • Assist in developing or evaluating tools that compare supplier invoices against purchase orders and received quantities.
  • Collaborate with finance team, to understand project scope, workflow, and business requirements.
  • Research and prototype AI solutions that improve documentation, reporting, and internal business processes.
  • Support data collection, validation, testing, and user acceptance activities.
  • Document workflows, process maps, technical recommendations, and project results.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Interest in automation, AI, manufacturing, or business process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Excel; familiarity with SQL, Python, Power BI, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Understanding of ERP systems and purchasing processes.
  • Interest in manufacturing and oil & gas operations.
  • Experience documenting business processes or workflows.
  • Curiosity about practical applications of AI in business.
