We are looking for a motivated and people-oriented person to work closely with the HR team to implement and assist with the HR policies here at Texas A&M University. The key focus areas for this internship will be in Recruitment and Staffing, HR Administration, Associate Relations, Compliance, Wage and Hour, Training and Safety.  This internship is designed to be both educational and practical.  In this position, the intern will learn how to apply the skills they have learned and apply them in a professional setting.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in auditing the HR health of the operation by conducting HR Assessments.

  • Support local recruitment efforts, including posting job requisitions and monitoring candidate activity.

  • Become familiar with payroll policies and procedures to support accurate filing and documentation.

  • Review employee records and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Identify training needs and support initiatives that improve labor compliance.

  • Maintain and update personnel files in accordance with the HR File Checklist to ensure consistent and accurate recordkeeping.

  • Participate in the hourly onboarding process, including timely and compliant completion of I‑9 documentation.

  • Engage regularly in employee engagement programs to support training, recognition, and workplace culture.

  • Ensure all required company, state, and federal postings are current and properly displayed.

  • Communicate effectively with multiple departments to gather information needed to complete HR tasks.

  • Build sustainable working relationships by collaborating with team members, internal customers, and technical teams; provide backup support as needed.

  • Complete various assignments and projects based on workload and business priorities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
