Job description

Position Title: 

Area Maintenance Manager - Finished Products

Pay Rate

$108,200- $144,300

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP's short -term incentive plan.

The Area Maintenance Manager will manage the repair and maintenance of the Finished Products department and all related equipment. This position is responsible for developing the area to achieve reliability and business goals. The mechanical process manager reports to the Area Maintenance Manager. This position reports to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager.  Position level is commensurate with experience. 

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Effectively and safely execute all maintenance and other assigned projects within the area
  • Direct supervisors in the performance of approved maintenance work and set standards for controlling safety, quality and cost of all work in the area
  • Plan, schedule and monitor programs to improve maintenance processes, reduce costs and increase productivity
  • Coordinate with operations and drive the MWS process to improve the effectiveness of maintenance services and improve overall paper machine reliability, ensuring quality customer service
  • Coordinate all major outages and manage the maintenance budget for the area
  • Provide equipment-related expertise and technical guidance for the equipment
  • Develop and drive reliability improvement processes; maintain metrics that drive the right behaviors and link directly to reliability strategy and desired business results
  • Assure a safe and highly motivated workforce by demonstrating leadership in safety and engagement
  • Lead Vicksburg to an accident and injury-free work environment through leadership by example, modeling safe behavior, and supporting established safety initiatives 
  • Provide leadership, clear direction, and develop personal accountability to maintain a satisfactory work environment for all employees. Treat each employee with respect and dignity, and hold others to the same standard
  • Hold meaningful one-to-one discussions with members of the Finished Products mechanical crew; set clear expectations for both team and individuals 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • A technical degree or related maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience is preferred. 
  • Successful candidate will have good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Project.  
  • Qualified candidates have strong leadership, communication, organization and planning skills.
