Project Manager

Job Overview:

The Project Manager plays a key role in supporting the GBAFS Senior Project Manager in achieving annual goals. Additionally, the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned projects while building and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role includes direct oversight of the assigned Job Foreman or Superintendent, ensuring all projects comply with GBA Facility Services Safety and Quality Standards.

The Project Manager is accountable for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and exceed customer expectations in terms of scope. Acting as an advisor in both office and field settings, the Project Manager provides direction, insight, and guidance to Job Foremen to enhance cooperation, efficiency, and communication on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Project Manager in achieving company objectives.
  • Ensure Safety Compliance by meeting or exceeding annual safety goals and enforcing job site safety protocols.
  • Monitor Project Progress by reviewing and reporting weekly job progress, manpower allocations, and job costs in GBAFS Directors' Staff Meetings.
  • Develop Business by securing work from existing clients and maintaining a positive professional presence as GBA Facility Services representative.
  • Assist with Estimating by conducting site walk-throughs, preparing cost estimates, and reviewing project requirements.
  • Lead Project Execution by:
    • Overseeing project schedules, manpower, equipment, tools, and materials.
    • Managing submittals with support from the Estimating Department and Assistant Project Manager.
    • Supporting Project Foremen with RFI submissions, change orders, and project documentation.
    • Advising and assisting Superintendents and Foremen in executing projects efficiently.
    • Ensuring all project documentation (plans, specifications, RFIs, change orders) is well managed.
  • Optimize Resource Management by:
    • Assigning and adjusting manpower based on project demands.
    • Monitoring productivity and addressing performance issues proactively.
    • Promoting a productive, professional, and cooperative work environment.
    • Mentoring and providing technical guidance to Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen, and Apprentices.
  • Ensure Effective Job Oversight by:
    • Reviewing Foremans logs, ensuring they include key details (weather conditions, safety factors, work progress, crew details, issues encountered, etc.).
    • Conducting weekly reviews of job progress with Project Foremen.
    • Collaborating with leadership to minimize project overhead and validate schedule estimates.
  • Facilitate Customer Relations by:
    • Attending progress meetings, inspections, and final close-out discussions.
    • Serving as the primary point of contact for project updates and issue resolution.
  • Support Billing & Review Processes by:
    • Completing billing procedures promptly.
    • Conducting post-project job reviews and follow-up training.
    • Participating in employee performance reviews in collaboration with the Senior Project Manager and Directors.
  • Represent the Company Professionally by always being an ambassador for GBA Facility Services when interacting with general contractors, engineers, architects, property managers, and owners.

Succession Plan:

  • Acts as a backup for the Senior Project Manager (as assigned).
  • Mentors and supports Superintendents, Project Foremen, Journeyman Electricians, and Apprentice Electricians.

  • Follow the GBA Facility Services Project Manager Manual.
  • Ensure all work aligns with GBA Facility Services high Safety and Quality Standards.
