Introduction

Our client, a leader in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a proven track record of managing capital projects valued at $6–7 million or more. This role plays a critical part in driving operational efficiency, managing complex capital investments, and delivering technical expertise to optimize plant performance. The position offers the opportunity to work across multiple manufacturing sites with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation in food production systems.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee full lifecycle delivery of large-scale capital projects, from design through to commissioning.
  • Manage multi-million-dollar budgets, cost tracking, and vendor negotiations to ensure high-value returns.
  • Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for equipment and services within the plant.
  • Work with regulatory authorities to secure project-related permits and approvals.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and lead cross-functional teams to implement best-in-class solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Plant Managers and stakeholders to implement process technologies and efficiency upgrades across manufacturing facilities.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Chemical, Food Process preferred).
  • Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred but not mandatory.
  • P.Eng designation is considered a strong asset.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience managing projects valued at $6–7 million or more, preferably in a food & beverage or pulp and paper environment.
  • Background in engineering consulting is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel (25%), including from Calgary to Edmonton, if based outside the city.
  • Strong project management, cost control, and technical troubleshooting capabilities.
