Job description

Machine Adjuster Trainee / Machine Operator
Location: Richmond, VA 23231
Pay Rate: $18/hr
Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts (7 PM - 7 AM or 7AM - 7PM), flexible availability required
Are you a skilled Machine Adjuster or Machine Operator looking for a new opportunity? Join our team and play a vital role in executing paper scrap collection, bale room processes, and delivering raw materials and finished goods on the production floor under the guidance of the shift supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all duties as a Machine Adjuster, including changing machines between sizes, styles, windows, gum, and printing to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Work closely with Machine Operators to maintain optimum machine speed and meet or exceed production targets while ensuring quality standards.
  • Check the work of the previous shift for quality and accuracy; notify the supervisor of any issues.
  • Inspect finished products throughout the job, correcting quality issues as a Machine Adjuster to maintain company standards.
  • Identify machine malfunctions, troubleshoot, and correct issues in a timely manner; escalate maintenance needs beyond Machine Adjuster capabilities.
  • Assist Machine Operators when necessary to support team goals and maintain production flow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized machine area, including envelope folding machines and related equipment.
  • Complete production paperwork, pull samples as required, and communicate shift status to incoming and outgoing teams.
  • Perform routine maintenance, general repairs, and other duties as assigned by management following safety procedures.
  • Stand for most of the shift, perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, lift up to 75 pounds, and be available for possible overtime.

Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Machine Adjuster or Machine Operator preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and maintain focus under fast-paced production conditions.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
