Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Operator to join our Intermediates business at our Lima, Ohio facility. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Operations function. This position will report to the Shift Team Leader.
Starting pay is: $31/ hour
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Perform light maintenance and prepare equipment to enable others to safely perform maintenance
  • Safe product loading of tank wagons and railcars
  • Analytical procedures required for process and quality control, performance monitoring and environmental compliance are performed by BDO Operating Specialists
  • Identify, diagnose and troubleshoot process and equipment issues
  • Utilization of a distributed control system to monitor and adjust the process
  • Willingness to work a rotating seven day per week schedule in all weather conditions
  • Ability to understand how systems work
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations within the limits of training and qualifications

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and wear respiratory protection
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
  • 3 years' experience in an operating environment
  • 5 years' experience in a petrochemical operating environment
