Job Description
The Extrusion Operations Intern supports safety and process improvement initiatives within the Extrusion Department. This role focuses on analyzing production activity through video review, supporting risk assessment processes, and developing standardized work instructions to enhance safety, efficiency, and consistency on the production floor.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Review surveillance footage of extrusion equipment to identify and capture interactions between operators, production lines, and materials
  • Edit and organize video clips into structured libraries categorized by specific tasks and activities
  • Collaborate with trainers and Shift Team Leaders (STLs) to review footage and accurately document task-based activities
  • Translate observations from video analysis into structured inputs for risk assessment documentation
  • Submit compiled findings to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Extrusion leadership team
  • Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and cross-functional teams supporting risk assessment processes
  • Utilize completed risk assessments and recorded footage to develop clear, standardized work instructions
  • Collaborate with trainers to validate and refine work instructions for accuracy, usability, and safety compliance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, operator training, and standard work development
