Job description

Role description:

The Process Improvement Engineer supports a rapid and continuous improvement culture by becoming a process expert, identifying improvement opportunities, analyzing data, and helping to drive data-based decision-making. This role's primary responsibility is to improve plant performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue improvement opportunities both individually and as part of teams
  • Develop expertise in multiple plant processes
  • Help identify opportunities for improvement to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Become the plant specialist regarding all relevant data sources and analyses
  • Help implement a culture of continuous improvement in the plant
  • Comply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies and programs within the departmental responsibilities

Minimum skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of various improvement methods and tools
  • Self-motivated and passionate about process improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior experience with analytical software (i.e. JMP or Minitab)

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Prior experience working with group applications such as SAP and Business Warehouse
