What you will be doing

The purpose of this role is to implement and optimize manufacturing processes by identifying and resolving inefficiencies, increasing performance, improving production capacity and quality, reducing costs, and ensuring safe, reliable, and scalable processes that support long‑term business growth.

  • Being the driving force behind the production processes: promote and oversee process excellence, respecting timing/budget/scope/safety/environment; develop process descriptions for new processes as needed within the scope of management of change procedures.
  • Provide necessary process technology input and support to accomplish CAPEX projects, including the development of process flows as needed for new commercial projects.
  • Set‑up and implement process improvements to the existing production processes to increase productivity and/or lower cost.
Process Excellence
  • Monitor and analyze current production processes and data, and developing methods to improve processes in terms of process safety, yields, and reduction of cost and/or waste.
  • Understands the process dynamics and internal process sequences within assigned machines and processes.
  • Drives execution of defined projects aimed at quality and efficiency improvements.
  • Monitors and tracks performance indicators for production processes and machines.
  • Plays an administrative role in data collection and visualization (graphs, trends).
  • Participates in onboarding and process tracking integration with Pi data logging project.
  • Responsible for maintaining operating procedures of existing equipment/processes.
  • Develops work instructions for new processes/equipment and keeps the existing procedures up to date.
  • Analyzes production processes for continuous improvements and proposes new ideas.
  • Providing process technical support to Operations and Quality all CAPEX and improvement projects.
  • Create standardized production methodologies and validates operational compliance with the procedures.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving process‑related production issues.
  • Training production operators on new processes and products introduced at the plant.
  • Integrating safety into all production processes.
  • Modification of workstations for better ergonomics (reduction of repetitive tasks, etc.).
  • Develop or digitize performance‑management tools.

Equipment Availability / Reliability

For process out of control instances or hardware failures, performs first line troubleshooting with RCAs and FMAs in cooperation with production staff and maintenance.

  • Assists maintenance in identifying preventive maintenance.
  • Develops sustainable critical spare parts inventory.
  • Implements pareto methodologies to manage/schedule process repairs and life‑cycle replacement of equipment.
  • Collaborates with outside specialists for regular maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Works with maintenance to make needed changes or repairs to control systems and keeps user manuals updated.
  • Drivers execution of defined projects aimed at process safety improvements.
  • Partners with production manager and EHS Dept. to plan, prepare documentation, and execute yearly process risk assessments on process installations.
  • Drives completion of action items defined in PRA and PSM program.
  • Works with site quality and EHS on timely completion of 8D and MOC action items.
  • Ensures that the quality requirements for the ISO 9001/14001 (and other management systems) are understood and implemented.
  • Ensures a safe and healthy work environment by following all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Assists in quality and environmental audits as needed.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline, or comparable skills, knowledge, and expertise gained through relevant work experience.
  • Prefer minimum 2 years of experience in production environment.
  • Technical competence in industrial processes involving chemical, physical, electrical, and mechanical steps.
  • Experience with optics manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience in executing risk analysis (PHA, HAZOP) is a plus.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
