Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and relationship-driven Implementation Specialist to lead the onboarding experience for new clients in our Professional Employer Organization (PEO). This role serves as the critical bridge between Sales and Service, ensuring a seamless transition and successful setup of all HR services.
The ideal candidate is both a strong project manager and a trusted advisor, capable of guiding clients through a structured implementation process while building lasting relationships.
Client Onboarding & Implementation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new clients during the onboarding phase
  • Lead kickoff meetings to establish timelines, expectations, and success criteria
  • Manage full-cycle implementation, including payroll, benefits, HRIS, compliance, and other PEO services
  • Ensure accurate and timely setup of client accounts, employee data, and system configurations

Project Management
  • Develop and manage detailed onboarding project plans, timelines, and milestones
  • Track progress and proactively address risks, delays, or issues
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams (payroll, benefits, HR, compliance, IT) to ensure smooth execution
  • Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle

Relationship Management
  • Build strong, consultative relationships with client stakeholders
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs and aligning solutions accordingly
  • Provide guidance and education on PEO services, processes, and best practices
  • Ensure a positive client experience and high satisfaction during onboarding

Sales Handoff & Transition
  • Partner closely with Sales to ensure a thorough and smooth handoff
  • Review client expectations, scope, and agreements to ensure alignment
  • Successfully transition clients from implementation to long-term service teams

Documentation & Compliance
  • Ensure all required documentation is collected, accurate, and compliant
  • Maintain detailed records of onboarding activities and client interactions
  • Support adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards

Qualifications
  • 2-5+ years of experience in implementation, onboarding, account management, or project management
  • Experience in PEO, HR services, payroll, benefits administration, or related field highly preferred
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
