Job description

As the Operations Excellence Manager, you will lead the execution of continuous improvement strategy in the plant. You will use regimented LSS methods and techniques to improve repeatable processes, ensuring the delivery of key objectives. You will conduct special studies for top management in areas such as our operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, operating cost containment, etc.
You will work onsite at PPG's Barberton, OH plant and report to the Plant Manager. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.
Responsibilities:
  • Operations and maintenance standard work process implementation across all operations in Teslin, OLED, and Optical
  • Improve reliability and OEE improvements in Teslin operations to meet sales and production goals through LSS methods
  • Post implementation coach for standard work process teams
  • Elevate then improve skills/capabilities of teams (problem solving, project management, etc.)
  • Steward of the site 3-5-year site improvement plan (SIP)
  • Facilitate annual Value Stream Map activity to identify gaps between current state and SIP
  • Develop improvement plans and measure the impact to organizational performance and structure
  • Ensure all improvement activities connect to business technology plan (BTP)
  • Oversee improvement cycle - preparation, facilitation, implementation, sustainment, performance tracking of JDI, PDCA, Kaizen and DMAIC events
  • Owner of monthly plant continuous improvement metrics - performance, financial performance, and cultural transformation
  • Participate in regional LSS/Continuous Improvement community collaboration session monthly

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or process-driven field, Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum eight (8) years of working experience, including operational role (e.g., plant or operations management)
  • Minimum LSS Green Belt certification, Black Belt certification preferred
  • Fluency in English and local plant language; regional focus; broad mindset
  • Visual basics, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint expertise
