Job Summary
The Area Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing engineering operations across multiple facilities or projects within the region. This role ensures the successful execution of engineering initiatives including product design, performance, testing and technical support for product lines, working in collaboration with the commercial and operations teams to ensure alignment of goals. The manager provides technical leadership, fosters cross-functional collaboration, and ensures consistent engineering standards and compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
Job Location
  • This job is based onsite at our facility in Fontana, CA or Lakeside, CA. This role will support both facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage regional engineering teams to ensure performance, development, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Drive process optimization, cost-reduction initiatives, and technical problem-solving across sites.
  • Ensure consistency in engineering practices, documentation, and quality standards across the region.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and Quality to drive equipment reliability and manufacturing excellence.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as corporate policies.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to optimize both product performance for our customers and to ensure lowest manufactured cost and scalability.
  • Balance workload across the regional engineering team while allowing the local plant management team to provide day-to-day direction.
  • Seek, implement and share Best Practices across Oldcastle Infrastructure's engineering community in support of our OneIPG evolution.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent across the region.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with infrastructure construction products in the Energy, Water and/or Communications market segments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering systems, manufacturing processes, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Team player with effective interpersonal skills and an open, collaborative style.
  • Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CMMS, etc.).
  • Civil PE certification is required.
  • Travel approximately 25%.

  • Annual salary of $130-145k plus target bonus.
