Overview

Provide technical application engineering support for the selection, configuration, costing, and quotation of Syntron Material Handling products. Partner with Regional Sales Managers, Inside Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and customers to develop technically sound and commercially competitive solutions that meet customer requirements while supporting company growth and profitability.


Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer applications and recommend technically appropriate equipment solutions.
• Prepare accurate equipment selections, cost estimates, and quotation packages.
• Review customer specifications, drawings, and process requirements to determine application feasibility.
• Coordinate with Engineering regarding custom designs, non-standard applications, and technical questions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Customer Service to resolve technical issues throughout the order lifecycle.
• Support Regional Sales Managers through customer meetings, technical presentations, and site visits.
• Provide post-order technical support and assist with troubleshooting equipment performance.
• Maintain accurate application data, customer information, and quotation records within company ERP and CRM systems.
• Identify opportunities for product improvements, cost reductions, and standardization.
• Develop expertise in Syntron products, customer processes, and industry applications.

• Monitor competitor products, industry trends, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for growth.
• Support technical training for customers, distributors, sales personnel, and internal employees.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 80/20 projects, standardization efforts, and process improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into engineered solutions.
• Demonstrated customer focus with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with material handling equipment, conveying systems, or industrial equipment preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/CRM systems (Epicor experience preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting customer deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
