JOB SUMMARY

The Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering design, integration, and technical execution of process equipment and systems, with a strong emphasis on CO â‚‚ recovery and liquefaction, industrial gas processing, and related applications. This role supports cross-functional teams and contributes to high-quality project delivery by ensuring all engineering work complies with customer specifications, project requirements, and internal quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Engineering & Technical Execution

  • Perform engineering design of equipment, components, and process systems for assigned projects.
  • Review project specifications and customer requirements to ensure correct interpretation and implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers and Lead Engineers to resolve design questions, inconsistencies, and scope clarifications.

Process & System Design

  • Develop detailed P&IDs (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams) in accordance with project scope and process requirements.
  • Prepare component lists, equipment selections, and full Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Create and hand off engineering packages to mechanical and electrical design teams, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Produce engineering documents, customer deliverables, and equipment submittal packages that meet project-specific and internal quality requirements.
  • Prepare O&M (Operations & Maintenance) documentation consistent with project and company standards.
  • Participate in design reviews, ensuring readiness for fabrication and conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain project tracking tools, schedule commitments, and engineering hour reporting.
  • Support internal kickoff meetings and ongoing project status meetings with the project team and customers.

Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and report scope changes or deviations promptly to the Project Manager.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during design and fabrication, facilitating timely resolution.
  • Recommend improvements to engineering practices and project delivery processes.

Fabrication & Testing Support

  • Provide engineering support during equipment fabrication and manufacturing, responding to technical inquiries.
  • Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as required.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR ABILITIES

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of engineering experience, preferably in an OEM or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in one or more relevant domains:
    • CO â‚‚ recovery or liquefaction systems
    • Industrial gas processing
    • Oil & gas process engineering

Preferred

  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and develop engineering drawings and P&IDs.
  • Experience working with EPC firms or engineering consultants.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoPlant 3D).
  • Knowledge of drawing management and BOM control tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
