Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads all manufacturing engineering activities at the Lancaster facility, driving operational excellence through the design, development, and continuous improvement of production processes, equipment, tooling, and CNC programs. This role plans and coordinates manufacturing process design and equipment modifications, manages the Manufacturing Engineering team, supports capital projects and new product introductions, maintains SAP routings, and drives cost reduction initiatives while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards and safety requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Follows all applicable ISO-9001 procedures relating to the duties of the Manufacturing Engineering Department and any associated manufacturing operations.
  • Follows all applicable Departmental and Shop safety rules.
  • Responsible for all Manufacturing Engineering in Lancaster.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all manufacturing processes:

Design, selection, acquisition, maintenance and repair of all production fixturing
Design, selection, acquisition, maintenance and repair of all production tooling
Design, maintenance, and implementation of all production equipment methods and
operator methods.
Development, optimization, and maintenance of all CNC programs.
Determination and improvement of all machining feeds and speeds.
  • Responsible for all SAP routings.
  • Responsible for the management and direction of all employees in the Manufacturing Departments.
  • Assist in the capital, justification and evaluation.
  • Develops new product costing and evaluation of make vs. buy studies on existing product.
  • Overall responsibility for cost improvement for direct and indirect elements of the manufacturing processes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; and six to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTING SKILLS
Ability to effectively utilize word processing software and spreadsheets and to navigate and use other custom applications software in a MS Windows environment.
