Position: CI/ Process Engineer
Location: Morgantown, PA
Position Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $76,100 - $95,100 per year
Bonus Eligible: 2.5% Quarterly Cash Bonus
Reports To: Continuous Improvement / Process Engineering Manager
Supervisory Responsibility: None

Position Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated, data-driven CI/ Process Engineer with a strong sense of urgency to drive the stability and continuous improvement of our production processes. Reporting directly to the CI/PЕ Manager, you will be responsible for recommending and implementing sustainable improvements to equipment, production processes, and monitoring methods.
In this role, you will work closely with senior staff, manufacturing, and quality personnel, as well as external customers, to minimize nonconforming product and optimize throughput.
Essential Functions

  • Process Support & Control: Provide technical process support for Electron Beam (EB), Plasma Arc Melting (PAM), and Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) processes.
  • Statistical Analysis: Implement and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) for critical melt processing parameters (e.g., EB gun power, melt rate, pressure) as well as critical part and process parameters.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in, support, or lead Cl projects utilizing data to drive improvements, implement control plans, and sustain performance gains.
  • Change Management: Support or implement Management of Change (MOC) and Manufacturing Process Experiments (MPE) associated with melting operations.
  • Quality Assurance: Investigate quality or process problems, assisting with customer complaints, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Documentation: Maintain precise process documents including procedures, forms, and operational standards. Participate in internal audit programs.
  • Collaboration: Influence, gain commitment, and leverage best practices across all levels of the organization, maintaining close liaison with Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments.

Knowledge, Qualifications, and Education

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (BS) in an engineering-related field or technical equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 or more years of industrial experience is preferred (Metals/melt industry experience is a strong plus).
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with MS Office is required; experience with Minitab or other statistical analysis software is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: A strong background in industry specifications and auditing is a plus.
  • Compliance: Proof of US citizenship, nationality, and/or permanent resident status is required to comply with applicable export and import laws and regulations.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work overtime as needed, collaborate with back-shift personnel, and respond to operational emergencies.

Physical Dimensions & Work Environment

  • Physical Demands: Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach, and talk/hear. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Moderate noise level. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and caustic chemicals. (Personal Protective Equipment will be required and provided).
