About the Role:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of engineers while ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions. This role balances people leadership, delivery accountability, and technical oversight, partnering closely with product, platform, and cross-functional teams. The Engineering Manager creates an environment that enables engineers to do their best work while meeting business, quality, and reliability goals.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering growth, engagement, and high performance.
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and performance standards aligned to organizational priorities; conduct regular feedback, performance reviews, and career development planning.
  • Support hiring efforts, onboarding, and team capacity planning.
  • Own delivery outcomes for the team, ensuring commitments are met with high quality and reliability; partner with product management to plan, prioritize, and deliver roadmap initiatives.
  • Balance delivery speed with sustainable engineering practices and technical quality; remove blockers and manage dependencies across teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight, ensuring engineering best practices are followed including code quality, testing, security, and documentation.
  • Partner with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and Architecture teams to deliver end-to-end solutions; communicate delivery status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tooling, and team productivity; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and learning.

Qualifications (some examples listed below):

  • 6–10 years of experience in software engineering roles; 2–4 years managing or leading engineering teams.
  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop engineers.
  • Solid technical background with experience in modern software development environments.
  • Ability to balance technical quality, delivery timelines, and team health.
  • Experience working in Agile or product-driven development models.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience delivering production software in enterprise or customer-facing environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation: The base pay range for this role is $138,300 - 179,900 annually

Pay within this range will be determined in good faith based on job-related factors, which may include skills, experience, education/training, location, and internal equity.
