Job Description:

Position Summary: This position will be responsible for translating the design intent into the compilation and controlling the technical instructions for product manufacturing while also providing support to the shop floor. It will also be responsible for the integrated Manufacturing Dossier covering all means needed for shop floor execution: engineering technical information, quality control, measurement tasks, components / parts, jigs & tools, maintenance tasks, health & safety.

Your Working Environment:

On 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges:
Standardized work (the best way to perform tasks described in the SOI - the

Synchronized station enablement, as support in the creation of the PERT
Time optimized work sequence
Drive implementation of 1st installation with required shop floor feedback
loops
Create / update/ prioritize routings / BoM / SOI taken into account shop floor
needs, Time calculation and Work Preparation Golden Rules in accordance
with applicable ABP processes
Specify industrial asset (Jigs, Tools, Tooling, Machines,...) requirements for
creation or modification, dealing also with standardization requests
Plan regular feedback loops with the Production Team
Manage key / recurrent work prep issues escalated by the Production Team
/ Tech shop floor support Communicate directly and by a physical
participation in Production Team routines
Support shop floor continuous improvement by providing work prep
expertise when issues not managed at shop floor level by technical shop
floor support
Upstream: contribute to select product concept in design phase (before
MG3) to ensure industrial needs are taken into account. Pull industrial
requirements to design & supply chain.
Manage project deliverables related to own work package; attend meetings
and pass information to other team members.
Your boarding pass:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Recent graduate with Bachelor's degree, or Non-degree holder with 3 years of Airbus experience
or 5 years of industry experience.
Excellent MS Office/Google Suite application, as well as experience in analyzing data
High degree of flexibility and initiative

Possess the motivation to learn.
Able to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings
Able to work with the metric system
Able to read and interpret technical standards
Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in manufacturing engineering.
Knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing.
Ability to work in a team environment, cross-functional team environment, as well as
independently and with customers and channels.

Have the ability to establish and maintain a good relationship with all internal customers.
Have the ability to work in an international team.
Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite or remote: Onsite 100% of the time (direct production support)

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings on a daily basis

  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms on a daily basis

  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications on a daily basis

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts on a daily basis

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs on a daily basis

  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs irregularly

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools irregularly

  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer on a daily basis

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving irregularly

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor on a daily basis
