Job description

Sedgman is currently seeking a Mining Process Engineer to join their team in Vancouver. BC. 

The ideal candidate will have prior experience providing process engineering support to an engineering design team, helping deliver high quality projects to clients.  As part of the process team, this individual will be responsible for the daily involvement in calculations, drawings, reviews, reports, modelling and client support activities; all will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide process design support through the engineering phases PEA, PFS, FS, conceptual design, front-end engineering and detailed design.
  • Develop, improve and promote the effective use of operations systems (i.e. JDE, SPRS,  Synergy, Aconex, SMS, Dochub)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
  • Develop process flow sheets and prepare process design criteria.
  • Prepare process calculations, PFDs, heat & material balances and P&IDs.
  • Size process equipment and develop specifications.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Will be up-to-date with advancements in mining processing technology and recommend implementation of new equipment or processes 
  • Additional duties as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Disciplines)
  • Will have 5 - 10 years of process engineering design experience 
  • Must have Professional Engineering designation (EGBC preferably). 
  • Prior experience in an engineering / consulting firm is required

  • In depth knowledge of process engineering, equipment, and technologies

  • Chemical and mineral processing experience is highly desired.
  • Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship

Salary Range: $105K - $135K
