Description
The Process Engineer supports the Technical Services department and the entire facility by providing technical support to continuously improve safety, quality, production and cost. The Process Engineer works directly with managers, superintendents, and other mill employees to help support their department goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides daily support for the Paper Manufacturing, Coater, and Effluent Treatment Plant
  • Assists teams and employees with troubleshooting issues and problems.
  • Continual evaluation and optimization of equipment and processes to ensure both efficiency and quality.
  • Process Analysis before/after shutdowns and newly modified equipment.
  • Data collection, interpretation and report writing.
  • Commissioning, qualification , and training associated with new process equipment.
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing chemical processes.
  • Responsible for leading and/or participating on CI teams.
  • Participates in safety and operational risk assessments.
  • Process chemical optimization efforts.

Process Trial Coordinator Responsibilities
  • Manages chemical authorization of new trial products.
  • Plans and conducts process trials.
  • Works with vendors to procure chemicals and equipment.
  • Trial data analysis and trial summary/report.

Quality Responsibilities
  • Manages routine Basis Weight/Scanner correlations and data generation for transmitter calibrations
  • Participates in product quality improvement trials in-house and at the customer
  • Manages routine dry end lab equipment calibrations and testing compliance and coordinates external calibration of TMI, L&W, X-rite, Schmidt Hammer; coordinates internal calibrations of Huygen internal bond, porosity; performs routine lab audits and presents them to assure testing accuracy.
  • Manages coater lab equipment calibrations and testing compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION , EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • BBE, Paper Science, Chemical or Industrial Engineering degree
  • Process Engineering internship experience
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • High level of initiative and motivation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to share technical ideas and concepts with the public and non-technical personnel

C O MPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting base salary range for this position is $ 76,722 - $ 95,902 per year plus eligibility in annual bonus program. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses or deferred compensation options.
