Job Description

Inland Empire Paper Company seeks an experienced Engineer to join our Mill Production Leadership team.

  • Project Management:ย ย Define, design and manage engineering projects for equipment and infrastructure including developing and reporting on budget elements and time management; oversee contractors/workers for efficient project performance; accountable for budget.
  • Process Optimization:ย ย Develop/upgrade processes to maximize capacity utilization, minimize cost and increase performance while maintaining environmental protection; includes conducting process development experiments, research and assessment of potential technology, supervising implementation.
  • Facilitator: Works closely with the mill leadership group including Maintenance Manager, department superintendents and supervisors as well as operators to provide daily manufacturing technical support, trouble shooting and problem solving to improve production efficiencies, output and safety of plant.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years field/plant work and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills to organize, interpret and draw conclusions from data.
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically and effectively with plant operations, maintenance and/or technical advisors, outside vendors, suppliers and consultants to solve problems and execute solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle overall management of engineering projects.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, engineering software (AutoCAD or similar); experience with distributed control systems (DCS) helpful.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills especially related to change management.
  • Knowledge of pulp and paper manufacturing desired, but not required.
  • Occasional weekend on-call dutyย or occasional off hours needs to cover 24 hour/7day per week operation.

Additional Information
  • The Plant & Project Engineerย is a salaried position. Pay range is $90k to $120k per year depending on experience and education.
