JOB SUMMARY

As a Mechanical Engineer - Cost & Design Improvements in Faribault, MN, you will:

  • Drive cost savings, margin improvement, and mechanical design enhancements across product lines
  • Perform mechanical design, modeling, and analysis for new and existing components and assemblies
  • Support RDE initiatives, including concept development, prototyping, and early‑stage mechanical design work
  • Contribute to sustaining engineering activities, including cost‑reduction projects and engineering change requests (ECRs)
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement design improvements and resolve mechanical issues
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
  • Contribute to projects that impact communities in Northfield, Owatonna, Dundas, Medford, Lakeville, Farmington, Waseca, and Lonsdale, and the greater southern Twin Cities metro

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a mechanical engineer
  • Experience with mechanical design, modeling, and documentation

  • Ability to identify and execute mechanical design improvements supporting cost, quality, and performance goals
