Product Engineer - Aerospace Components

Primary Purpose: 
The Product Engineer will provide technical support to the Operations team throughout the manufacturing process in our facility. This includes ensuring adherence to current processes and procedures as well as developing new ones, including the qualification and development of vendors for outside processing. The position also involves working closely with Sales, Planning, and Quality team members to assist with customer questions and product changes. It offers the opportunity to build technical knowledge and manufacturing expertise, with room to grow and take on increasing levels of responsibility as you develop your skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to the Operations team and Production Supervisors throughout the manufacturing process
  • Take ownership of specific product lines, ensuring productivity goals are achieved by meeting expectations of yield and efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity following our process change procedures
  • Work directly with outside vendors on process development while monitoring and improving their quality and throughput
  • Lead cross functional investigations, take corrective action, determine effectiveness of actions for technical problems that are identified
  • Support Sales, Planning and Quality personnel in interacting with customers regarding technical characteristics of the products and processes
  • Review Purchase Orders, Blueprints and Specifications to ensure product and process is compliant with customer requirements.
  • Creates submittal of First Articles, Concessions, Production Permits, Cut-Up plans, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
  • Previous experience working with Solidworks, ProCAST, Magma, Magmasoft or other solidification software preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, & presentation communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively throughout all levels of the organization, including directly with our customers
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively between coworkers, supervisors, and management team

Work Conditions:
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate but the employee will be exposed to higher noise levels when required to be in manufacturing areas. The individual may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, machinery, and vehicles when in the manufacturing areas.
