Job description

Audubon is currently seeking a Process Safety Associate III to join our team in our Metairie, LA Office. The Process Safety Associate III will provide consulting services in the area of Process Safety, including Process Safety Management (PSM), in support of projects for the oil and gas, petrochemical and refining industries
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitate/lead Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) meetings, including HAZOP/ LOPA studies and produce high-quality preparation and reporting documentation.
  • Provide information and advice to clients and project teams regarding Process Safety regulations.
  • Analyze engineering documents to identify safety hazards and mitigate them.
  • Travel and work at customers' site upon their request, including field inspections as needed.
  • Assist in business development and technical proposals for Process Safety Group.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors and other consultants.
  • Adhere to company quality standards and follow engineering checking and approval procedures.
  • Comply with all company and client health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) standards as well as federal and local HSSE regulations.
  • Provide PSM/RMP Compliance Auditing.
  • Provide safety engineering advice for quantified risk assessments, assessment of safety instrumented systems, alarm management, preliminary risk assessment, Facility Siting, etc.
  • Provide engineering design for Fire Protection Systems.
  • Actively participate in company and client hazard identification and observation programs, and immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or incidents to your supervisor.
  • Manage workload, budgets and project resources, requesting assistance as necessary.
  • Additional duties as required.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
  • Bachelor's Degree from ABET Accredited Institution preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Fire Protection & Safety Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineering Certification Preferred.
  • Certificate of completion of HAZOP/LOPA Facilitator Training required.
  • 10+ years industry experience preferred, including leadership of at least 10 PHA studies. Experience with PHA Pro software strongly preferred. Experience with ABS Leader software a plus.
  • Working knowledge of codes (API, etc.) and Process Safety Regulations preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing, including public speaking to groups of up to 30 professionals.
  • Ability to lead teams to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
  • Ability to lead teams to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems.
  • Ability to provide instruction and clarification to team members.
