Job Description
Manager, Process Engineering
Position Location: Chaska, MN
Position Summary:
TEL is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the New Product Process Technology Group located in Chaska, Minnesota.
Responsibilities
Department management responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of process engineers to support process development, process optimization and continuous improvement for existing product fleet and new platforms
  • Implement engineering working standards to drive increased work efficiency and quality improvement.
  • Define department technical and resources strategies to support company goals
  • Establish equipment operation and process specifications
  • Manage department budget, engineer & equipment schedules, and project priorities
  • Work closely with customer engineers and managers to coordinate efforts with own department to develop and demonstrate new processes
  • Prepare and present material for internal and customer meetings
  • Work closely with TMEA factory and product team, sales and marketing groups, and other functional areas, to prepare changes, additions, and modifications which will facilitate customer adoption and improve quality of process equipment
  • Acts as a liaison with product design and development to ensure processes and designs are compatible.
  • Facilitate the creation and capture of IP for TEL associated with semiconductor equipment, process and manufacturing.
  • Travel to Japan, external Customers, and TMEA offices as required.

Employee management responsibilities:
  • Hire, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of process engineering internal and external support.
  • Set goals for the group as well as individuals and drive accountability to those goals.
  • Create individual development plans with direct reports and help team members meet their goals.
  • Manage department resources aligned with the RBA Code of Conduct.

Minimum requirements:
  • Minimum four-year degree in science/technology discipline is required
  • Minimum eight years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing and/or semiconductor equipment is preferred
  • Prior process engineering and/or process engineering management exp.is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of equipment technology and semiconductor device structures is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of vacuum-based equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of plasma etch equipment is preferred.
  • Strong problem finding/solving skills are required
  • Strong oral communication and technical presentation skills are required
  • Ability to travel 0-10%

Physical Demands and Work Conditions The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
Salary Ranges
$133,076.06 - $192,944.77
Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training. In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.
