Job Title

Process Engineer

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for a Process Engineer to assists the Tufting Department Manager in achieving excellent performance in safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, waste, and cost while ensuring compliance with all company, plant, and departmental guidelines and procedures and will be based in Cartersville, GA. This individual will support both Plant 12 & 13.
Based on experience, this position could be filled as a Process Engineer or Sr Process Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Participate and continuously improve Leadership Standard Work focusing on Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost.
  • Monitors safety of all processes in Tufting and BST
  • Monitors Production area and assists with troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Provides coaching to Mechanics, Operators, and Supervisors around Safety and Productivity Performance.
  • Drives root cause analysis and preventive measures for off quality and customer complaints.
  • Participates in customer feedback calls and customer visits.
  • Monitors running conditions of Tufting as needed to ensure the production of a first quality product.
  • Monitors all product changes and startups to guard against off quality.
  • Confers with lab on OOS quality checks.
  • Assists in improving the operational knowledge and improving the procedures of the TO's and in increasing the areas overall response time to OOS conditions.
  • Writes and/or modifies procedures in SMS
  • Conducts weekly process control meeting and attends QIT meetings
  • Assists Tufting and BST employees, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Four (4) year degree in a relevant technical field.
  • At least one (1) year experience in a manufacturing environment or its equivalent.

  • Previous leadership experience preferred
