FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time


Job Summary:

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role works closely with production, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to analyze current processes, implement improvements, and support new product introductions.

The Process Engineer evaluates production data, identifies opportunities for process improvements, and implements solutions that enhance operational performance. This position plays a key role in continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring consistent manufacturing performance.


Key Responsibilities:

Process Development & Optimization

  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost with an emphasis on CCA and Box Build processes.
  • Design, develop, and implement process improvements to optimize production performance.
  • Establish and maintain process documentation including work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support troubleshooting of production issues and implement corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, productivity improvement, and cost savings.
  • Utilize Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to improve operational performance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations, quality issues, and equipment inefficiencies.

Production Support

  • Work closely with production teams to resolve process-related issues.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and process metrics to ensure stable manufacturing performance.
  • Provide technical support during production ramp-ups or process changes.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to support new product launches.
  • Develop manufacturing processes for new products and ensure readiness for production.
  • Assist with validation activities, including process capability and qualification.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate process documentation and engineering change records.
  • Ensure processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Support audits and quality system requirements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, or related discipline).
  • Typically 3โ€“6 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing process improvement and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with production equipment and manufacturing systems.

Preferred:

  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with process validation and statistical analysis
  • Experience supporting new product introductions
  • CAD or process simulation experience
  • Experience in contract manufacturing with an emphasis on CCA manufacturing

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to stand and walk within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 20 pounds.
