Job description:

* Play a key role in leading process development and overseeing daily injection molding operations

* Be instrumental in the successful launch of new molds

* Establish robust and efficient processes, supporting accurate quoting and driving continuous improvement across the companys molding operations

* Injection Molding Process Development

- Establish, document, and optimize molding process parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time) for new and existing tools

- Conduct DOE and scientific molding studies to enhance quality, reduce scrap, and improve efficiency

- Lead first-off and validation runs for new molds; support PPAP and capability studies in collaboration with Quality

- Troubleshoot process issues such as warpage, short shots, and inconsistent cycle times to ensure stable production

* Tooling & Mold Review

- Determine machine tonnage, clamp force, and shot size requirements for each part / tool at quotation stage

- Collaborate with tooling vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure new tools meet company standards and project timelines

* Supervision & Technical Leadership

- Supervise and mentor injection molding technicians, set-up staff across all shifts

- Ensure process consistency, adherence to standard work, and proper documentation

- Develop and deliver technical training programs to improve team competency and troubleshooting skills

* Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred but will consider others)

* 3 yrs+ experience as a Process / Product Engineer

* Good knowledge of injection molding processes, ideally in an automotive Tier 1 or 2 environment

- hands-on injection mold machine knowledge / able to process a new tool

- hands-onexperience in processing new molds, including the knowledge of what adjustments to make and how to make them if there are issues with the parts coming off the press

- should also be capable of setting up molds when required

- experience with injection machines with 1200 Ton+ capacity

* Decisive with leadership qualities

* Able to interact with others and support / mentor

* Ability to clearly communicate and train employees on process standards

* Computer literate (MS Office, Outlook)
