The Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing production processes and equipment, achieving performance targets, ensuring a safe work environment, maintaining technical documentation, and supporting quality improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Essential Duties
  • Optimize and control the processes within assigned scope.
  • Maintain, improve, and automate production equipment.
  • Meet established production performance targets.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for employees within their cell.
  • Manage technical documentation related to production activities.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Lead to analyze complaints, determine root causes, define corrective actions, and ensure implementation.
  • Meet scrap targets for the assigned production cell.
  • Ensure BOMs and Axiom parameters are accurate and up to date for assigned products.
  • Maintain production tooling in good condition.
  • Develop and issue preventive maintenance plans for each piece of equipment.
  • Drive production employee engagement to achieve objectives.
  • Participate in new product development and approval of new materials; implement and document new processes from prototype through production.
  • Support training and certification for new operators.
  • Improve the quality of existing products.
  • Work on new equipment with the design and manufacturing teams.
  • Support costreduction efforts through process improvement, material usage optimization, firstpass yield improvements, and automation.
  • Support activities in compliance with ISO Quality System procedures.
  • Support and participate in Lean/6S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with peers, supervisors, managers, and Marmon IEI employees.
  • Responsible for all other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Preferred
  • Process engineering experience in Wire & Cable is an advantage.
  • BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.
  • Six Sigma/Lean experience highly preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred
  • Handson wire and cable experience highly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of ISO standards.
  • Knowledge of various polymeric materials is a plus.
  • Ability to perform complex arithmetic, statistics, and other applied mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read and write clearly.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Solid ability to perform basic IT functions in shop applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Strong multitasking ability with effective troubleshooting techniques.
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a noisy manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
  • Ability to work long hours while standing and operating machinery.
  • Ability to work in hightemperature environments.
  • Ability to move objects and materials of at least 50 lb
