Our facility is dedicated to precision, quality, and innovation across all manufacturing processes โ€” with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support engineering development, new program launches, process optimization, and production support throughout the Wallingford facility.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities across Maintenance, Production, and Engineering. This includes developing processes for new and existing programs, supporting NPI efforts, improving throughput, ensuring quality compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

This role works closely with the Plant Manager and Quality Manager to ensure that our manufacturing processes meet customer requirements, safety expectations, ITAR regulations, and internal performance goals.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to develop surface enhancement solutions that meet performance requirements and timelines.
  • Create project plans for all new programs, assigning clear milestones and responsible parties.
  • Work with Plant Leadership to allocate resources (labor, materials, equipment) to support successful program outcomes.
  • Develop training materials, process instructions, and critical spare part programs for NPI and CI projects.
  • Support commercial goals by improving throughput, efficiency, and margin performance.
Safety & Quality
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety in all manufacturing environments.
  • Ensure all newly developed processes meet or exceed customer quality standards.
Team & Professional Development
  • Maintain involvement in relevant industry organizations to stay current with technological advancements.
  • Build supportive internal networks across Sinto America for collaboration on NPI and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on emerging surface treatment technologies through seminars, training, and ongoing research.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Conduct all activities with high integrity and adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Support and promote company safety, quality, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Ensure all materials and data handling comply with ITAR/EAR and customer cybersecurity guidelines.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering.
  • 3โ€“10 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or process development (Experience with surface treatment processes such as peening, blasting, coating, or finishing).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable 3D modeling software.
  • Ability to interpret engineering data, manufacturing instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of statistics and analytical problemโ€‘solving methods.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and work safely in a dusty, noisy industrial environment.
Preferred
  • Experience with NADCAP, AS9000, or aerospace/medical OEM quality systems.
  • Experience with surface treatment processes such as peening, blasting, coating, or finishing.
  • Background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement.
Work Environment
  • Industrial manufacturing floor with exposure to dust, noise, oils, and mechanical equipment.

  • Frequent standing; occasional lifting up to 70 lbs.

  • Required PPE: safety glasses and steelโ€‘toed footwear.
