Work Setting: Onsite

Compensation: $90,000–$115,000 base salary

Bonus: 12% target annual bonus

Position Summary

A global leader in advanced photonics and semiconductor technology is seeking a Process Engineer to support wafer fabrication process development, optimization, and production at its Sherman, Texas manufacturing facility.

This hands-on engineering role is responsible for improving semiconductor manufacturing processes, increasing yield, reducing defects, and supporting new process integration in a cleanroom environment. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop robust manufacturing processes across multiple wafer fabrication modules.

The ideal candidate has experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges through data-driven analysis, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, characterize, and optimize semiconductor wafer fabrication processes
  • Support process modules including photolithography, wet etch, dry etch, deposition, metallization, anneal, and related manufacturing operations
  • Analyze process performance using SPC, process capability studies, engineering statistics, and data analytics
  • Design and execute engineering experiments to improve yield, reduce defects, and increase process stability
  • Develop and maintain process documentation including SOPs, process recipes, control plans, and OCAPs
  • Support new product introductions and process transfers into high-volume manufacturing
  • Investigate process excursions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, equipment, and product engineering teams to improve operational performance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, scrap reduction, and cycle time improvements


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of semiconductor process engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience in a semiconductor wafer fabrication or cleanroom manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and wafer processing fundamentals
  • Experience using SPC, process capability analysis, control plans, and engineering statistics
  • Experience designing and executing engineering experiments (DOE)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, Python, SQL, or MATLAB
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite in Sherman, Texas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with compound semiconductors including GaAs or InP
  • Background in optoelectronics, photonics, or laser device manufacturing
  • Experience supporting lithography, etch, deposition, metallization, or anneal process modules
  • Experience with new product introductions or process transfers into manufacturing
  • Knowledge of yield improvement, defect reduction, and process optimization methodologies
  • Experience writing process specifications, SOPs, process recipes, and technical documentation
