Overview

Our intern program is designed to individuals who are currently enrolled full-time students at an accredited four-year college or university. Work is project oriented and will include design & implementation of engineered plans for the production process.The goal is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Currently enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university seeking a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field Minimum of 3.0 GPA Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to work 20 - 29 hours per week Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to be effective Microsoft Office experience required Must be a self-starter and like working in a team environment as well as ability to leverage scientific knowledge and theory to practical applications Strong planning and organizational skills Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions Able to build relationships across all organizational lines Able to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS: Manufacturing environment that is hot and humid May need to work outside in various temperatures Fast paced manufacturing environment working both in office and plant settings. May perform activities in an environment containing hazardous elements and requiring safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, BPRs, and support the compliance of applicable ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting, standing, walking, repetitive use of hands/arms/legs, and eye/hand coordination for 6+ hours a day Occasional bending, reaching overhead, crouching, balancing, pushing, or pulling Occasional need to lift up to 50 lbs. Walking required, usually < 1-2 hours a day. Occasional bending, reaching overhead, crouching, balancing, pushing, or pulling. Must be able to wear all PPE that is required

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to assigned area(s) Work closely with process/production engineers and Operations personnel on specific assignments related to meeting daily production goals Design both plant process and equipment to be readily adapted to suit the product range and the process technologies involved; taking safety, environmental, and economic aspects into account Assessing multiple options for plant improvements, including design, budget, schedule, and economic return. Project Management including Installing and commissioning new production and /or equipment, monitoring developments and troubleshooting; applying new technologies; ensuring that potential safety issues related to the project operator, the environment, the process, and the product are considered at all stages. Maintain integrity and reputation through compliance with state, federal and AJICO guidelines and regulations Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives Assists other employees in accomplishments of company goals Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor Participates in and completes company-required training programs
