Job: Fire Protection Engineering Intern – Fire Protection group

Location: Lenexa KS

Summary:

Interns at GBA Companies gain hands-on experience in a collaborative work environment and have an opportunity to work side by side with industry experts. What You’ll Do

As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern, you’ll:

  • Assist with preparing designs, analyses, calculations, and models related to fire protection systems, life safety systems, and passive fire protection building features.
  • Assist with conducting project site visits to observe construction and witness system testing.
  • Follow quality control processes and design standards.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams.
  • Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:
  • Pursuing BS or MS in Architectural Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or another related engineering degree from accredited program.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher strongly preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office software is preferred
  • Experience with architectural/architectural engineering projects or internships is preferred.
  • Finished at least two years of school
  • Involved in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/ or organization
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk around the office for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
