We are seeking a highly motivated intermediate mechanical engineer to join our dynamic team. As an intermediate mechanical engineer, you must possess a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, codes, and standards, and can work independently on moderately complex projects. You will work under the supervision of a Senior Engineer but are expected to take ownership of their tasks and provide guidance to junior engineers. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
The Intermediate Engineer supports senior engineers in the design, coordination, and execution of projects within their area of specialization. This role requires technical competence, collaboration with internal and external teams, and the ability to deliver compliant, high-quality designs.

Design & Technical Execution

  • Perform design work for the assigned discipline in compliance with relevant codes and standards
  • Support drafting team with technical input and drawing markups
  • Prepare specifications, technical reports, and calculations
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to collect data or verify design applicability

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to coordinate designs
  • Attend project meetings and communicate progress with internal teams
  • Assist in preparing proposals, schedules, and cost estimates

Documentation & Quality Control

  • Review design documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Support QA/QC reviews of project deliverables
  • Assist with drawing reviews and revisions
  • Take liability on design and stamp discipline specific design packages when acting as Engineer of Record (EOR)

Construction Administration

  • Conduct field reviews and respond to contractor inquiries
  • Provide technical assistance during construction
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Cross-Training and Flexibility

Qualifications


  • You have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • You have 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering design.
  • P'Eng in the province of Ontario.
  • Having P'Eng Quebec and New Brunswick are strong assets.
  • Being bilingual (French and English) is a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, codes, and standards (e.g. OBC, NBC, ASHRAE, CAN/CSA, NFPA, etc).
  • Knowledge of Carrier HAP is a strong asset.
  • You are a good communicator
  • You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range $75,000 to $100,000 based on experience
