Wieland is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer I. The Manufacturing Engineer I will plan, design, and implement production systems that assure safety, performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, cost control, and quality assurance. The Manufacturing Engineer will strive to implement processes that increase productivity, reduce in-process inventory, increase quality, and generate overall continuous improvement of manufacturing and production support systems. This role is located in Delaware, OH and will be fully on-site.
Responsibilities
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Ensure equipment and processes comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and insurance regulations while promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Design and modify production equipment, tools, and layouts to improve efficiency and support evolving manufacturing needs.
  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions and manufacturing documentation to ensure consistent and optimized production processes.
  • Lead the design, installation and troubleshooting of new and existing manufacturing equipment to enhance quality, throughput, and reliability.
  • Provide hands-on support to the production floor, addressing equipment or process issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain output.
  • Develop specifications for new equipment
  • Identify and analyze inefficiencies and recommend improvements to reduce waste and enhance operational performance.
  • Investigate production challenges, identify root causes, implement solutions to improve product quality and process reliability.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to coordinate equipment needs, schedule downtime, and gather input for continuous improvement initiatives.

Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics, or a related field, preferred.
  • 2-4 years of related job experience.
  • Electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting ability.
  • Analytical Problem Solving/Analysis abilities.
  • Communicate proficiently using verbal and written methods.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly motivated and willing to take the Initiative to get tasks done.
