Manufacturing Process Engineer - Blue Ash, OH

The responsibility of the Manufacturing Process Engineer is the tactical and strategic management of all engineering activities related to the assigned production team. The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Engineering Leader of the respective Value Stream. Primary Goals of this position include:

  • Tactical Execution - Manage the effective prioritization and resourcing for completion of projects, and problem solving efforts, to improve safety, product quality, productivity and on time delivery
  • Strategic Growth - Drive continuous improvement in all systems and processes through the use of our problem solving process
  • People Development - Provide the opportunities for yourself, and your team members to learn and grow on a daily basis

What You Will Do:

  • Partners with all other functions to create a successful work environment that thrives on collaboration and process creation and adherence
  • Function, coach, and create the necessities for a safe work environment
  • Provide engineering support to assigned cells. To include the ability to analyze processes and equipment. Perform root cause analysis and drive equipment reliability and process stability.
  • Helps define, specify and communicate expectations for quality outcomes through the creation of standard work, quality specifications, and work instructions
  • Ensures engineering solutions meet requirements for safety, cost, time, and quality.
  • Ability to assess risks/issues and make decisions, acting with a sense of urgency,
  • Use formal problem solving techniques to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Prepare capital project requests and manage their implementation.
  • Assist purchasing and quality Assurance in qualifying new vendors, as needed
  • Research, evaluate, justify, and recommend capital equipment for operations.
  • Develop and/or maintain all process documentation (i.e. routings, standard work, work instructions, setup sheets, etc.) to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze proposed changes for manufacturing impact and feasibility.
  • Knowledge and basic skills in Lean Manufacturing and Project Management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects / assignments simultaneously
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical manufacturing

What You Need to Succeed:

  • BS or MS in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a machine shop environment
  • Skills in any sheet metal manufacturing is a plus (Shear, notch, roll, form welding, etc.)
