Position Summary:

The Process Engineer will support continuous improvement projects and product process development activities at the DSG Canusa Fairfield Site. The Process Engineer is a subject matter expert (SME) as it relates to process engineering and is accountable for supporting process improvement initiatives and delivering world class process design and improvements to support the business. This role will address ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for employees as well as delivering new process introductions, operational cost savings, and capacity improvements. Process Engineers also support the implementation of the Mattr Management System (MMS) through continuous improvement activities, increasing plant and office process efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, and eliminating process variability and wastes.

Key Responsibilites: 

  • Support daily manufacturing operations by providing handson technical guidance to supervisors, operators, and maintenance teams to ensure safe, stable, and efficient production.
  • Diagnose and resolve process, tooling, and equipment issues using structured problemsolving and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Lead and execute process improvement and process development projects that increase line efficiency, reduce cost variances, improve product margins, and enhance quote competitiveness.
  • Partner with product engineering, product development, product management, and quality teams to support new product development and process introductions while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Apply datadriven analysis to evaluate process performance, identify variability, and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Contribute to Environmental Health & Safety initiatives to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Support the implementation of the Mattr Management System (MMS) by eliminating waste, improving process flow, optimizing resource utilization, and increasing operational consistency.
  • Build embedded technical capability within the organization through peer training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred; other relevant technical degrees or backgrounds will be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment - with manufacturing systems and process improvement methodologies.
  • 1-2 years of experience in project coordination or project management.
  • 1-2 years of experience using CAD.
  • 1-2 years of experience applying Lean Six Sigma tools, including process mapping, root cause analysis, 8D, A3, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, DOE, and capability studies.
  • 1-2 years of experience with quality management systems such as ISO or IATF, including control plans and PFMEAs.

  • Strong problemsolving ability with the flexibility to navigate ambiguity.
  • High mechanical aptitude with the ability and willingness to work directly with production equipment.
  • Solid understanding of engineering, material science, and scientific principles.Technical aptitude with process tooling, manufacturing equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Intermediate project management skills, including prioritization, time management, and planning.
  • Ability to lead change and influence others without direct authority.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across global and crossfunctional teams.
