Job Title
Process Engineer
Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for a Process Engineer to build hands-on manufacturing experience while developing strong technical and leadership skills. In this role, you will support and improve Tile Cutting operations, working closely with maintenance, quality, and technical teams across all shifts to drive safety, efficiency, and product quality. You'll gain exposure to process optimization, capital projects, data analysis, and new product development while being mentored by experienced engineering and operations leaders. If you're eager to apply your engineering education in a real-world environment, grow your problem-solving skills, and build a foundation in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, this role offers a strong pathway for long-term career growth within manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
  • Understand and Support all SAFE, SMS, TPM, Lean Six Sigma, and Environmental efforts.
  • Work with 10-12 Maintenance Techs and 3 Quality B-levels over 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift and assist in setting priorities for mechanical/electrical work.
  • Lead the planning, set up, data collection, and data analysis with all technical development trials and new product development in their area.
  • Be able to effectively communicate the reasons for the progress of and results from these development efforts.
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement in efficiency, safety, quality, cost, and environmental aspects in their area.
  • Manage Critical Parts Lists for Machinery. Order Special Parts
  • Have mastered all duties included in the Process Engineer job description.
  • Manage capital projects to ensure completion in a timely manner.
  • Fill in for the Department Manager as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 4 year engineering degree
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or willing to complete Green Belt and Black Belt Training.
