  • Lead the US team in developing existing product updates and new product introductions to meet the strategic goals of the company. Research and incorporate industry and market trends, competitive positioning, and consumer behaviors into overall project plan.
  • Collaborate with Factory Engineers to guide Innovation, Quality and Performance Standards, Research and Development objectives, determine market viability, project cost and resource requirements.
  • When necessary, and approved, travel to vendor factory to provide training and instruction for the design and production of products.
  • Design and implement Stage Gate elements to execute and monitor success in all steps of the design, manufacture and packing processes. Ensure that new product development (NPD) projects are completed on time with a high degree of professionalism throughout the organization.
  • Ensure Quality Standards. Analyze performance data and provide factory with the necessary direction to implement improvements. Recruit and manage network of Field Quality Testers and third party providers (such as Big Sky Tools).
  • Negotiate services and monitor results of all third party design vendors as approved in PGP budgeting.
  • Maintain open and proactive communication with all stakeholders, including: co-workers, management, customers, factories and vendors.
  • Negotiate vendor payment terms and pricing.
  • Manage pricing template for company use in preparing customer pricing.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Product development and quality control in Pneumatic Power Tools, Electric Power tools, air Compressor or Water Pump categories.
  • BA/BS Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Create Suite, Stage-Gate Systems.
  • Process oriented. Demonstrated ability to develop repeatable processes or improve existing processes in product development. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Project Management Skills. Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions to push projects to completion. Understands how to align resources and manage others effectively.
  • Ability to speak, read, write Mandarin Chinese.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to a variety of requests from customers, regulatory agencies and industry standards organizations.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time, primarily to China, but also to other international locations.

ENHANCED EXPERIENCE:
  • 3-6 years product development and quality control.
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience working with manufacturers in China
  • Fluent in Mandarin

COMPENSATION: Salary Bonus
Compensation: $65,000.00 per year
