Job Description

Position Overview

As an Associate, Land Development you will work with the Land Development team to support the development of utility scale wind and solar projects throughout the United States. This person will report to the Senior Manager, Land Development. The position is located in Chicago, Illinois.

  • Strong working knowledge or experience of Senior Analyst role as listed above
  • Expert level in the review of contracts and agreements
  • Highly proficient in using software platforms as mentioned above
  • Takes lead role in curative tracking process including leading developer/land agent calls and meetings, landowner communication, and coordination with legal team
  • Attends and is often highly engaged in all project related meetings
  • Ability to attend landowner meetings or other field opportunities
  • Effective communicator with the ability to give small demonstration type or training mini-sessions to Land Development team
  • Assists Senior Manager in the onboarding and education of all prerequisite roles or new team members
  • Expert level knowledge of legal descriptions and real estate terminology
  • Oversees and leads large-scale documentation drafting
  • Expert level in the estoppel process and able to oversee the coordination and tracking of the entire process
  • Highly proficient Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. skills
  • Point of contact or liaison for developer, paralegal, land agents, landowners, internal management, and external counterparties for projects in their region
  • Lead role in preparing and getting through a project finance and/or sale.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of work experience in energy industry or relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or work experience in business or real estate.
  • Several years of experience in similar role.
  • Understanding of the energy industry and development of renewable energy and real estate projects.
  • Strong public speaking, communication, and personal skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new topics and act decisively and strategically in a fast-paced business environment with competing deadlines.
  • Must be self-directed and driven, with the ability and desire to effectively lead.

Base Pay

$80,000.00 - $93,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 20% - 30%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
