Job description

We are seeking an experienced Process Designer with advanced AVEVA P&ID experience to support industrial process engineering and design projects. This position will focus on creating, updating, and maintaining Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) while working closely with Process Engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of process design principles, industrial facility operations, and experience developing engineering deliverables within a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, revise, and maintain Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using AVEVA P&ID.
  • Support Process Engineering teams with process design documentation and project deliverables.
  • Create and update process flow diagrams (PFDs), line lists, equipment information, and associated process documentation.
  • Incorporate engineering markups and field changes into existing process drawings.
  • Ensure design deliverables comply with project standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with Process Engineers, Instrumentation Designers, Piping Designers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Participate in design reviews and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
  • Maintain drawing accuracy, consistency, and document control throughout project execution.
  • Assist with as-built documentation updates and Management of Change (MOC) activities.
  • Support both capital projects and facility modification efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Process Design within industrial, chemical, refining, petrochemical, manufacturing, energy, or related industries.
  • Advanced proficiency with AVEVA P&ID software.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and revising P&IDs in an engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering concepts, equipment, instrumentation, piping systems, and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications, process flow diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting EPC, consulting engineering, or owner-operator projects.
  • Familiarity with AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD, SmartPlant P&ID, or similar design platforms.
  • Experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Knowledge of chemical processing, refining, manufacturing, specialty chemicals, pulp & paper, or industrial facilities.
  • Associate Degree in Design Technology, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
