SUMMARY

Responsible for the daily coordination and communication of materials between planning, purchasing, and production. Identifies long lead materials identified by planning, coordinates with engineering, and prioritizes procurement. Utilize aircraft schedules to expedite all materials in support of production, while coordinating with buyers and suppliers as required for status, under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support Logistics make / buy process, coordinate for required inputs and issue timely and accurate work orders / routers in accordance with requirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity and manage the Shortage Reporting (SFC440) process to ensure communication and performance (demand-to-supply) gaps are closed with clear exception management processes / disciplines.
  • Coordinate with planner to identify long lead parts/materials and process to purchasing.
  • Prioritize all planning part / material requirements to purchasing based upon aircraft and / or maintenance / modification schedule.
  • Liaison between production, programs and purchasing personnel regarding parts / material priorities.
  • Assure all parts / material are being tracked and updated within computer system.
  • Expedite parts / materials through company for both incoming and outgoing requirements.
  • Contact suppliers for part/material delivery status and tracking information.
  • Trained and capable to place purchase orders with suppliers as directed by Lead or Manager maintaining compliance with purchasing guidelines.
  • Coordinate / assist with the identification of alternate parts / materials.
  • Process non-routine requirements and assure material requisitions have appropriate backup documentation. 
  • Assist Buyer / SCPM with the identification of customer furnished materials, purchased, manufactured, modified, exchanged, etc., as required.
  • Maintain appropriate computer databases as required within various shared files.
  • Maintain professional communication with customer representatives both internally and externally.
  • Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent reading, writing and mathematical skills; college preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience within, or related to the assignment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with aircraft installation, maintenance and/or modification processes.
  • Familiarity with aircraft manuals and related aviation maintenance publications.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Effective organization skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work
  • Ability to build positive relationships and to maintain cross-functional partnerships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

  • Read, write and understand the English language. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
