WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Quality Control Supervisor will monitor production and product quality to ensure all products meet the established specifications. The QC Supervisor will have some responsibility in performing the development, maintenance and implementation of the quality systems and food safety programs. Will provide support and direction to Quality Control Leads and Technicians.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

JOB DUTIES:

  • Coaches and mentors Leads and Quality Control Technicians to ensure their development and understanding of current and new processes
  • Ability to address HR related matters and escalate when necessary
  • Responsible for onboarding and refresher training of QC Technicians
  • Train and review of methodologies, SOP’s, performance and techniques of QC personnel by working with QC Managers including calibration of equipment to assure accuracy and repeatability of test results
  • Ensure all analytical and production check frequencies are being met
  • Monitor compliance to specifications, methods and procedures, GMP, HACCP and food safety programs through records review
  • Conduct routine plant inspections to verify compliance to quality and food safety programs and regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical support in the implementation of HACCP, food safety and regulatory including training and correction of deficiencies
  • Handle and support in the investigation of customer complaints and holds for non-conformance
  • Monitor quality and status of products in inventory
  • Monitor CIP systems and documentation to ensure proper cleaning. Validate records and compliance to established parameters
  • Perform routine sanitation inspection and verify efficacy with associated equipment through visual inspection and microbiological testing
  • Monitor pest control and allergen programs
  • Conduct and review HACCP Plan, Food Quality Plant, procedures and work instructions
  • Other duties as assigned


ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to organize, supervise and direct a diverse work force
  • Must be goal oriented and results driven
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong technical and organizational skills with a high sense of urgency and flexibility
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work independently without daily supervision or monitoring
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members at all levels in both written and oral
  • Supervisory experience in quality assurance in food or beverage manufacturing
  • Experience in food plant sanitation
  • Knowledgeable in HACCP, GMPs, food safety, plant audits, sanitation and other state and federal regulatory
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word and Access)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science or minimum of 2 years of related experience and or/training in lieu of education
  • Valid Driver’s License


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3- 5 experience in food manufacturing or food production
  • HACCP & SQF Certification


PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:

  • The work environment for this position will be typical of the manufacturing facility. There are portions of the job that will require working in cold (< 40°F) environments and in warm environments (>90°F), loud environments, in proximity of chemicals as well as the laboratory environment. For short periods of time there is work in a frozen (<0°F) environment.
  • Must be able to work in a wet, cold or hot environment
  • Must be able to walk, stand for extended periods of time (occasional climbing)
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs
