Process Engineer you will be reporting to the Operations Engineering Manager and will lead the development and process control of the Paint Shop (E-coat, sealing, topcoat). The Paint Lead Process Engineer will have responsibilities for leading a team of process engineers in the installation, commissioning, and operation of our new paint facility.
Plant 3rd shift hours: 8:30 pm - 5:00 am EST. Please note: These reflect general core hours, start and end times will vary based on overtime needs.
YOUR IMPACT
  • Provide leadership for assigned engineers and technicians
  • Lead paint process engineers in operational control, continuous improvement, and trouble shooting
  • Develop your assigned team members, and manage departmental projects
  • Lead Paint manufacturing line design and launch- System design, engineering acceptance, installation, and commissioning
  • Oversee system operational controls- defect reduction, system chemistry, equipment uptime
  • Research and formulate plans to accomplish major projects, including manpower estimates, cost estimates and work measuring devices such as milestones or critical path charts.
  • Incorporate ergonomics into safety, productivity, and performance.
  • Monitor progress of major projects and make recommendations when needed including acquisition of capital equipment.
  • Develop proposals for production processes.
  • Support cost estimate activities for both new product lines and contract extensions.
  • Research and make recommendations on make or buy products.
  • Research and make recommendations for the acquisition of tooling, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Understand current safety and OSHA requirements pertaining to assembly operations.
  • Identify process improvements in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Write assembly work processes and man assignment procedures.
  • Establish manpower requirements, line and sub-assembly balancing data, and expectancy time performances.
  • Assist in plant layout and work station design.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize work to meet established deadlines.
  • Provide technical support and assist as a resource person in assigned area.
  • Other duties, as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Three or more years related experience in automotive or industrial Paint, Electrocoating, and Robotic application operations

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Good overall people management skills..
  • Previous supervisory and/or manufacturing experience a plus
  • Experience with automotive or heavy-duty equipment manufacturing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Pay Range:
$64,500.00 - $103,500.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
