Qnity has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Customer Quality Manager in our Semiconductor Technologies Litho Quality Organization. This role is in order to provide our most important and strategic customers with superior service and response for any product issue within our Marlborough facility and for communicating critical product and manufacturing requirements to our global factories. The position is located in Marlborough Massachusetts.
This role utilizes strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills for direct interaction with factory teams and key customer. Role is expected to deliver customer requirements and identify opportunities to the factory to deliver on those needs. It is a great opportunity to interact across many functions in the Marlborough site, as well as, globally across our teams in Japan and Korea.
The candidate is also required to participate in root cause investigations and define corrective and preventative actions to ensure effective systematic, process and product improvement. This role will realize many key areas of product quality, including analytical testing, product functional testing, manufacturing process, and product performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Global point of contact for all customer sites communicating critical needs and requirements to factory teams.
  • Global internal point of contact for communicating critical quality needs to customer from all Qnity ST Litho manufacturing sites.
  • Prepare customer change notification letter (PCN), work with customer to resolve issues identified during their qualification testing, gather customer input on change & qualification plan.
  • Investigate and resolve customer quality and performance complaints.
  • Respond to customer requests for tighter control limits / specs, including data analysis, cost assessment, working with Marketing to determine final response, obtaining internal approval as required.
  • Respond to customer requests regarding specification improvements and information on product manufacturing process (control plans, mfg process flow, quality systems, etc).
  • Communicate with PCS and PDP product teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement controls identified by FMEA for specific products - ensure batch sheets & SOPs are updated; implement specifications, control limits & trend rules in SPC software.
  • Review intermediate & product control charts as part of the PCS (Process Control System) process. Investigate trends in product data, determine root cause, & implement corrective or improvement actions.
  • Work with manufacturing to investigate & resolve OOC product parameters with batches in production.
  • Adhere to quality management systems.
  • Lead Customer process and quality audits to ensure site alignment to customer requirements.
  • Prepare notification and approve qualification plans for product changes that impact customer.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the semiconductor or semiconductor materials industry in a technical role is preferred. (Engineering, R&D, Quality, Fab, Manufacturing, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience using formal problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Kepner-Tregoe Problem Analysis, QC problem-solving story, RCI, 5 why, FMEA, or others.
  • Strong data analysis skills; experience using statistical tools like JMP, LIMS, MES
  • Demonstrated success resolving technical challenges in a time-critical situation.
  • Experience communicating with key customers with demonstrated trust and influence.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related major.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in semiconductor technologies, lithography preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of total experience and/or equivalent education in at least one of the following areas: chemical manufacturing, process engineering, or quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems of a technical nature.
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of QMS, SPC, FMEA and RCI techniques is required.
  • Travel expectations include supplier and customer visits.
  • Position is full time on site ideally; Hybrid may be considered
