Job description

As a Quality Control Inspector, you play an essential role by verifying manufacturing processes, record results and provide feedback to supervision and management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintains quality standards by approving components, in-process production and finished products, while recording the quality results in logs and electronic files
  • Approves in-process production and final units by confirming specifications; conducting visual tests; communicating required adjustments to supervisors
  • Electro Mechanical/Visual Inspection - Components, Subassemblies and Final Product
  • SMT and Plated Through-Hole PCA Inspection
  • Use of digital measuring tools, CMM, magnifiers, inspection mirrors, torque tools, RoHS Test (XRF), etc.
  • Team-oriented; ability to communicate inspection results within a team environment
  • Utilize root cause and corrective action techniques to improve the process
  • Able to understand and follow manufacturing and engineering documentation, i.e. Bill of Materials, Engineering drawings, work instructions, etc.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into quality database.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
  • Assists in ISO internal Audit program for Production Line audits

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EXPERIENCE: Three to six years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. 2 year technical certificate in Electronics a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Intermediate skills: Ability to navigate and use internet/intranet and other programs such as the MS Office package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, or Company-wide cross-functional Enterprise Resource Planning software.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Minimum Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight, volume and distance measurements, as well as American currency.
REASONING ABILITY: Basic Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to perform limited troubleshooting to assist root cause/disposition of inspection defects.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred: Knowledge/Certification to IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 Quality Standards

SALARY RANGE
The starting hourly rate for the role is between USD $20.00 to $23.00. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
